CINEA and DG Mare are promoting a study to support and design skills development in the blue economy. The goal of this study is to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the current and anticipated developments in skills across various sectors of the blue economy throughout the EU.

The Macro-Regional and Sea Basin Strategies Days 2024, co-organised by DG REGIO and DG MARE, took place on June 12 and 13, 2024, at THE EGG in Brussels. During this two-day event, the seven strategies (Alpine, Danube, Adriatic-Ionian, Baltic Sea, Atlantic, Western Mediterranean, and Black Sea) came together to meet and collaborate.

The fifth edition of the Green Energy Ports Conference took place on June 18-19, 2024, in Vigo, Spain. This international conference on green energy technologies in ports gathered leading specialists and authorities from the maritime-port sector, who presented cutting-edge technologies being developed or implemented in ports around the world.

On June 17, 2024, the Atlantic Action Plan organized a joint National Event for Pillar I and Pillar IV in Vigo, Spain. This event served as a prelude to the Green Energy Ports Conference, held in Vigo on June 18-19, 2024, where coordinators and task force members from both pillars, along with the Spanish National Hub, participated in various roundtable sessions.
