
The 2nd Atlantic Steering Committee Meeting of 2025, under the Irish Presidency, took place at the National Maritime College of Ireland (NMCI) in Cork on 21 May. The meeting was attended both in person and remotely by Committee members and invited guests.

Key topics of discussion included a possible review of the Atlantic Action Plan
and the development of the Atlantic Region Maritime Spatial Planning (MSP) Practitioners Group. It was also discussed the impact of the Ocean Pact on the the points and EMD event that was happening in Cork between 21st and 23rd May.
The MaREI Centre and the National Maritime College of Ireland presented their projects, strategic objectives, ongoing programme developments, as well as the impacts and results achieved to date. They also presented upcoming activities and the expected outcomes.
The Irish Presidency also announced the date of the 12th Atlantic Stakeholder Platform Conference, which will take place in Galway, Ireland, on 13 November 2025.
Following the meeting, participants attending in person had the opportunity to tour the NMCI facilities, learn about recent developments, and experience first-hand some of the cutting-edge maritime technologies in use.
