Across the Atlantic Area, several large-scale marine renewable energy (MRE) projects have successfully secured funding yet struggle to advance to full deployment.

The workshop "Navigating the Energy Transition in Aquaculture" will take place on February 19, 2024, in a hybrid format, both online and in person in Brussels, Belgium. It will focus on the energy transition in the EU aquaculture sector, addressing key challenges, opportunities, and solutions to support a more sustainable and resilient future.
Organised for the first time in 2024, European Ocean Days will be a week of events related to European maritime topics.
It will cover, on separate days over the week, the EU Mission Ocean and Waters, future priorities for Europe’s Seas, blue innovation and investment opportunities, as well as ocean literacy activities.

The next Steering Committee of the Thematic Smart Specialisation Platforms (TSSPs) will take place on 29 November (8:30 - 14:00) in Barcelona.

The full decarbonisation of the blue economy is becoming more and more relevant for the EU and its neighbouring countries, and it remains a truly cross-cutting challenge for the three participating sea basins strategies in the Atlantic, the WestMED and the Black Sea.
We are very pleased to inform you that the 15th European Wave and Tidal Energy Conference will be held between 3rd– 7th September 2023 in Bilbao, Spain.
