10th ATLANTIC STAKEHOLDER PLATFORM CONFERENCE (ASPC 2023)

Atlantic Future: New synergies and innovations for a sustainable Ocean Economy

  • Registrations CLOSED

We are delighted to announce that the 10th Atlantic Stakeholder Platform Conference (ASPC 2023) is now open for registrations!

ASPC 2023 will take place three years after the launch of the Atlantic Action Plan 2.0 – A New Approach to the Atlantic Maritime Strategy (AAP 2.0). The Conference will, as in previous years, provide all stakeholders of the Atlantic Community the opportunity to review the progress and achievements made so far regarding AAP 2.0 objectives and blue economy challenges in the Atlantic Sea Basin.

The AAP 2.0 has a strong international dimension, also through participation in the All-Atlantic Ocean Research Alliance, which involves the participation of - among others – the USA, Canada, Brazil and South Africa. This is the starting point to strengthen cooperation across the Atlantic as “[…] pillars focus on issues that one coastal region and one single State cannot solve alone or it is more efficient to act together and deliver on challenges that matter in the daily lives of people living in the coastal areas”.

This year’s conference will provide the opportunity to assemble traditional stakeholders as well as new ones from different geographies to discuss future cooperation on blue economy, investment, innovation and sustainability.

The Conference will be held on the 18th and 19th of October 2023 in Porto Cruise Terminal in Oporto, Portugal and online.

Here’s what you need to know:

The theme of this year’s conference is "Atlantic Future: New synergies and innovations for a sustainable Ocean Economy”. The conference will focus on providing insights of the key Atlantic Action Plan 2.0 activities and challenges of achieving sustainable blue growth and contributing to greater territorial cooperation and cohesion in the Atlantic area, both in EU as well as internationally. Special focus will also be given in synergies identification and promotion.

The conference aims to:

  • Provide an overview of the current status of the Atlantic Action Plan 2.0 implementation.

  • Focus on Atlantic cooperation opportunities and challenges both in the EU and international context.

  • Showcase projects, best practices, new partnership models, funding opportunities and community platforms that promote the Blue Economy and the EU Green Deal.

  • Foster collaboration between stakeholders, existing and new players that will unlock opportunities and accelerate the implementation of the Atlantic Action Plan 2.0 – contributing to an impact-driven networked innovation ecosystem in the Atlantic.

What to expect during the conference?

  • Inspiring and engaging talks from thought leaders, change agents, opportunity investors and “doers” in the Atlantic cooperation area

  • Dynamic sessions with approaches from the EU combined with the knowledge, experience, and best practices of different actors from different geographies that share the same concerns about the Atlantic and the ambition to develop blue economy.

  • The 7th Atlantic Project Awards

  • Matchmaking and networking opportunities

  • A live exhibition for projects, programmes, funds, key stakeholders, and the Assistance Mechanism Helpdesk.
