  • The “Women in the Blue Economy” call for proposals is now open

    Today the European Commission has launched the “Women in the Blue Economy” call for proposals under the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF). With a EUR 2.5 million budget, the call will help increase the participation of women in the different sectors of the blue economy, such as fisheries, aquaculture, shipbuilding, maritime transport, offshore renewable energy, blue bioeconomy, as well as inland and offshore aquaculture. Up to 2 projects are expected to be funded, with an exceptional co-funding of 90%.

  • The EU Blue Economy report 2022

    In its fifth edition, the EU Blue Economy Report continues to analyse the scope and size of the Blue Economy in the European Union. It aims at providing support to policymakers and stakeholders in the quest for a sustainable development of oceans, coastal resources and, most notably, to the development and implementation of policies and initiatives under the European Green Deal in line with the new approach for a sustainable Blue Economy. Through its economic evidence, the Report also seeks to serve as a source of inspiration to investors.

  • #EULife22 Info Days

    From 18 – 20 May, CINEA will hold various virtual information sessions on the LIFE 22 Calls for proposals. 

    These live virtual sessions will guide potential applicants through the LIFE programme, the Calls for proposals and the priority topics for 2022.  

  • Stakeholder event on the common fisheries policy, 10 June 2022

    Registrations are now open for a hybrid stakeholder event on the functioning of the common fisheries policy (CFP) and common market organisation (CMO), taking place on 10 June 2022 in Brussels, Belgium. Concluding a consultation process that started last December, the event will help the European Commission prepare the report on the functioning of the CFP and CMO, due both to be adopted by the end of the year.

  • Participation of the Atlantic Steering Committee in the Atlantic-Arctic Lighthouse workshop

    On the 7th of April, Lara Ventas, on behalf of the Atlantic Steering Committee, took part as speaker at a workshop organized by the European Union about the Mission restore our Oceans and Waters by 2030.

    Towards an integrated dissemination & exploitation ecosystem. The publication contains information on the background, vision and mission, objectives and related activities of the Dissemination and Exploitation (D&E) Strategy for Horizon Europe. The aim is to inform R&I stakeholders of the integrated D&E ecosystem.

  • BlueInvest: Commission and EIF agree to mobilise €500 million with new equity fund for blue economy

    At the BlueInvest Days 2022 in Brussels, Commissioner Virginius Sinkevičius and European Investment Fund (EIF) Deputy Chief Executive, Roger Havenith have announced a new dedicated equity initiative for the blue economy under InvestEU.
