The stakeholder event will take place in a hybrid setting, with participation possible both in Brussels and online. It will offer a unique opportunity to take stock of the functioning of the Common Fisheries Policy (CFP) and Common Market Organisation (CMO), and discuss challenges and best practices with all relevant stakeholders working in the fisheries and aquaculture world.
All stakeholders, including the fishing industry, non-governmental organisations, academic, scientific, social and economic partners are invited to take part in the event.
Discussion will be organised around two thematic plenary sessions. The first session will cover the social, economic and environmental objectives of the CFP. How can fishers and producer organisations cope with crises and strengthen their resilience… with a focus on climate change, social aspects, markets and clean ocean. The second thematic session will revolve around innovation, resilience and governance in the fisheries world. All of this coupled with the challenges that have been identified throughout the consultation.
