On 25th April 2025 the Pillar ll event Blue Skills: Key for a Sustainable Economy in the Atlantic Region event happened in Brest and online.

The event was a great opportunity to share the level of progress of on-going EC study related to Blue Skills (CETMAR) but also to get the feedback on the urgent needs of the Blue economy sectors in France (CINAV) or for Marine Renewable Energies (France Energies Marines).

It was also interesting to share views on Flores project and the Offshore Renewable Energies (ORE) Skills partnership in the Pact for Skills. It illustrated the need to develop synergies and follow up of related EC studies and funded project on blue skills.

The workshop highlighted the need to consider how to define common curricula in the seabasin and to continue developing synergies with EC related activities in the seabasin and beyond.

The event was the day after the Floating Offshore Windform Turbines (FOWT) annual event  in order to ensure a link with Pillar III topics.

We look forward to see the outcomes and collaborations that emerge from the event and to continue strengthening the connections made in line with Pillar II roadmap and the engagement of its task force.
