Ocean InfoHub Training

JOIN OUR UPCOMING TRAINING!

Our International Oceanographic Data Exchange (IODE) - together with regional partners across the globe - has developed an inclusive Ocean Data and Information System (ODIS) to allow digital stakeholders to reliably share and discover key ocean data.

ODIS is built by its participants: anyone with data to share can become a node in the ODIS network.

The course will take place online between 14-28 April 2023, with an estimated duration/workload of 5 hours (live sessions excluded). The course will consist mainly of asynchronous work ( including reading assignments, watching tutorials and completing an assessment). The live sessions during the Spanish/French/Portuguese course will be covered in English.

Take this course if you would like to participate in the Ocean Data and Information System.

You will be trained in how to link your systems into ODIS and how to make them a more visible and actionable part of the ocean’s digital ecosystem. Additionally, by the end of the course, the learners are expected to:

-  understand the Ocean Data and Information System

-   understand how to incorporate ODIS schema.org patterns into existing online databases or websites.

The target audience should have a working understanding of JSON and the HTML Document Object Model, as well as knowledge on how to configure extensions to their web framework (DKAN, CKAN, geonetwork or others), IF a framework is being used.

This course is available in ENGLISH | SPANISH | FRENCH | PORTUGUESE

⏱ Applications accepted until 21 April 2023 for the modules in Spanish, French and Portuguese.
