President von der Leyen announced the ambitious goal of building a Digital Twin of the Ocean (DTO) by the end of 2024. The European Commission has been working diligently to turn this vision into reality, and through the EU Mission "Restore our Ocean and Waters", progress has been made to make ocean knowledge accessible to various stakeholders worldwide.

At the Digital Ocean Forum 2024, they will unveil the prototype of the EU DTO and showcase its potential as a Commission public service. Learn how the EU DTO contributes to the sustainable development of blue economies, the management of ocean resources, and the implementation of the UN Decade of Science for Sustainable Development.

Detailed information about the event can be found on the RTD event web platform. Attendees can choose to participate either online via the platform or in-person (registration for in-person attendance is available on a first-come, first-served basis).
