Summary:
The International Jellyfish Bloom Symposium is the world’s largest meeting of jellyfish and other gelatinous species scientists. The symposium aims to bring together specialists from all over the world in order to share, learn and inspire current and future research on the topic, addressing questions in order to highlight key areas for future exploration. Even if the convention is mainly addressed to jellyfish and other gelatinous species scientists and experts, it also focuses on science outreach. In order to achieve this, a special session will be organised and general public and media will be invited. A diverse selection of talks and posters will be introduced to illustrate the research that is being done on the topic, ranging from spatiotemporal dynamics and population genetics to socio-economics and ‘citizen science’. On behalf of the local and international organising committee, we invite you to attend the Fifth International Jellyfish Bloom Symposium, which will be held between May 30 and June 3 at the Aquàrium of Barcelona, Spain. Late May and early June is a very pleasant time of the year in Barcelona, so the location and the weather conditions are perfect for this type of congress.
