Call for evidence: Shaping the European Oceans Pact

The European Commission has launched a call for evidence to shape the European Oceans Pact, a political initiative that aims to promote sustainable ocean management and ensure the health, resilience, and productivity of the oceans—key to the prosperity of the EU’s coastal communities.

The call for evidence will run until 17 February 2025, with the Commission expecting to receive a wide range of contributions from stakeholders, experts, and citizens. The feedback collected will be instrumental in shaping the European Oceans Pact, which the Commission aims to present in time for the 3rd UN Ocean Conference in June 2025.

The European Oceans Pact will set a vision for a holistic approach to ocean-related policies. It will explore:

  • How we affect the ocean

  • How the ocean affects coastal communities

  • The opportunities that the ocean provides us with

This is a crucial opportunity to help define the future of Europe’s oceans. Your voice matters! Whether you are an expert, a stakeholder, or a citizen who cares about our marine environment, your insights can make a difference.
