The purpose of the SFI Conference and Workshop programme is to facilitate international and national conferences and workshops of strategic value hosted in the Republic of Ireland.

Our aim is to contribute to greater harmony between people and the planet. We fund in two areas:
- managing habitats
- protecting the seas.
We will also consider applications for work in the UK Overseas Territories.

The Green Deal call, expected to be published on 17 September 2020, will mobilise research and innovation to foster a just and sustainable societal transition aiming at ‘leaving nobody behind’. Projects are expected to deliver tangible and visible results relatively quickly and show how research and innovation can provide concrete solutions for the Green Deal main priorities.

The SFI Partnership Schemes aim to provide a flexible mechanism by which SFI can build strategic collaborations with key partners such as industry, funding agencies, charities, philanthropic organisations or higher education institutes (HEIs) with the goal of co-funding outstanding opportunities.

• Deliver energy from a renewable source, reduce the cost of renewable energy or provide key solutions for renewable energy generation
