
The 12th Atlantic Stakeholders Platform Conference report is out!
The 2025 edition of the Atlantic Stakeholder Platform Conference (ASPC2025) took place in Galway, Ireland on the 12th and 13th of November and was co-organized by the Irish Atlantic Steering Committee Presidency, DG MARE, and CINEA, with support from the Atlantic Assistance Mechanism.
This year’s conference theme “Tides of Cooperation: The Atlantic Strategy as a Catalyst for the European Ocean Pact,” underscored the importance of strengthening European cooperation and integrating maritime efforts to achieve a sustainable and vibrant future for the Atlantic region.
The conference was held as a hybrid event with physical and online participation and brought together over 150 stakeholders from different geographies to discuss future cooperation on blue economy, investments, innovation and sustainability.

Opening Ceremony
Minister of State Timmy Dooley set a collaborative tone, joined by representatives from the European Commission and Interreg Atlantic Area, emphasizing shared visions for the future of our oceans.
Plenary Sessions:
Atlantic Ports Powering the Blue Energy Transition showcased innovative projects in port decarbonization and marine renewable energy, highlighting the need for cross-border collaboration and investment
Resilience Through Knowledge focused on blue skills and ocean literacy, with interactive sessions involving Irish students from the Explorers Education Programme
Research and Innovation Dimension of the AAP 2.0 brought together policymakers and innovators to discuss the Atlantic’s leadership in ocean sustainability
Future of AAP 2.0 Implementation engaged participants in shaping the next steps for the Atlantic Action Plan in alignment with the EU Ocean Pact
Atlantic Project Awards
Five outstanding projects were recognized for projects’ outstanding performance, promoting the key priorities of the Atlantic Strategy and advancing the Atlantic Action Plan 2.0.
