The EU maritime project dashboard is now live, providing a publicly accessible platform to explore maritime projects and funding across Europe’s sea basins. By compiling structured information in one place, it helps stakeholders better understand how EU and national investments contribute to shared blue economy priorities. The dashboard strengthens transparency, supports monitoring and policy analysis, and improves the visibility of maritime initiatives.
The development of the EU maritime projects dashboard
The EU maritime project dashboard – previously known as Maritime Data Hub – began to take shape since the first mapping exercices of 2017.
Project data were collected and streamlined with support from the EU Sea Basin Strategies Assistance Mechanism teams (Atlantic, WestMED and Black Sea).
From the outset, the mapping has been guided by the political priorities defined by the sea-basin strategies and initiatives, ensuring alignment with the priorities identified by participating countries. As the number and diversity of projects expanded, the need for a more dynamic and user-friendly tool became increasingly clear.
In 2025-26, the EU Sea Basin Strategies Assistance Mechanism, in collaboration with CINEA, led to the development of the current dashboard, marking a significant step forward in long-term monitoring and cross-basin analysis. The platform is designed to offer a modern user experience and facilitate the exploration and analysis of project data, including information on countries involved, funding mobilised, thematic priorities covered, thereby supporting both policymakers and the wider blue economy community.

The EU maritime project dashboard offers a user-friendly platform bringing together project and beneficiary information, budgets, locations, and links to official sources. It provides a clear overview of trends, regional dynamics, and how projects contribute to shared priorities across the sea basins.

What’s next
The dashboard will integrate the Greater North Sea Basin Initiative (GNSBI), completing coverage across all four sea basins. It will continue to evolve by expanding its data sources, refining project mapping and aligning with emerging policy priorities.
These developments will further strengthen its role as a strategic reference point for understanding and showcasing the impact of EU-funded maritime initiatives.
