The Atlantic Project Awards 2025 ceremony was held during the 12th Atlantic Stakeholder Platform Conference in Galway on November 13, 2025. These prestigious awards celebrate outstanding success stories achieved by projects within the geographical area covered by the Atlantic Strategy.
The winners of the 2025 awards in each category are:
🏆 Atlantic Ports and Blue Economy: SMARTDEC
The main objective of SMARTDEC is to create an interactive platform for exchange between all stakeholders in the maritime transport sector as part of the decarbonization of transport and port activities in order to stimulate the adoption of new technologies and define a harmonised strategy for the Atlantic seaboard.
🏆 Blue Skills and Ocean Literacy: WIN-BIG
WIN-BIG is addressing the gender imbalance and capacity gaps across BuE sectors in the EU to support women joining and climbing their way up the value chain.
🏆 Marine Renewable Energy: AQUAWIND
AQUAWIND’s purpose is demonstrating a co-located and multi-use integrated solution that would entail integrating an innovative approach to finfish aquaculture with an existing maritime renewable energy production Wind to Power prototype.
🏆 Healthy Oceans and Resilient Coasts: MARINNONET
MARINONNET seeks to boost the innovation capacity of the Atlantic Area Blue Biotech sector fostering open innovation initiatives and market-driven R&D&I activities that engage both innovators and innovation facilitators.
🏆 International Cooperation: OKEANO CSA
The main objective of the OKEANO CSA is to provide coordination and support to the All-Atlantic Ocean Research and Innovation Alliance, ensuring effective governance, cooperation, and communication amongst signatories, to consolidate existing initiatives emphasising the importance of climate regulation, biodiversity preservation, and sustainable ocean economies.
