Atlantic Strategy Pillar III | Bridging the Gap: Addressing Barriers to Large-Scale MRE Innovation Deployment Across Regions

Date:

Across the Atlantic Area, several large-scale marine renewable energy (MRE) projects have successfully secured funding yet struggle to advance to full deployment. Despite technological readiness and project ambition, progress is frequently halted by unforeseen barriers related to consenting, planning, environmental assessment, infrastructure readiness, and cross-border coordination.

This webinar - organized by Atlantic Pillar Coordinator III in collaboration with the Ireland National Hub - Bridging the Gap: Addressing Barriers to Large-Scale MRE Innovation Deployment Across Atlantic Regions, brings together policymakers, developers, and research stakeholders to explore the systemic obstacles limiting MRE roll-out and to exchange experiences from across Atlantic member states.

The discussion will focus on how national frameworks, regional policies, and collaborative initiatives can better support the transition from funded innovation to operational deployment.
